Prairie North Dance is a natural, judgement-free, breath of fresh prairie air. Our focus is on meaningful movement, health and well-being, where every student regardless of ability has the space and opportunity to learn and be a part of the dance and movement creation process.
Beginning with an instructional foundation rooted in Safe Dance Practice, Brain-Compatible Dance Education and the Canadian Sport for Life's Long Term Athlete Development Model, Students will learn to move their bodies in a way that feels good and to express ourselves and the stories we want to tell through a wide variety of meaningful movement. With a central focus on Irish Dance Soft Shoe and Hard Shoe style and technique, we will build upon our foundations of Dance to celebrate the stories of our families and our communities through both modern and traditional Irish Step Dance choreography.
We envision the creation of a future collaborative dance community engaged in recreational, performative and competitive dance of all styles, that honors both the land and the people, past, present and future, who make up our rural communities.
We dance where we live, and are located in the heart of the Interlake in the Town of Stonewall, Manitoba.
We look forward to growing our dance community with you.

Prairie North Dance holds membership to Healthy Dancer Canada; The Dance Health Alliance of Canada. This membership allows our dance community to have access to the most up-to-date research and education in the field of dance, to help ensure all our dancers can enjoy dance as a lifelong sport.

Two of our teachers, Lacey Blowers and Karin Love, were selected to participate in the 2026 Dancing on Dangerous Ground Workshop, held in Limerick Ireland at the World Academy of Irish Dance. It was an amazing opportunity to connect with the world's most talented Irish Dancers and to learn the original choreography directly from the World's greatest Irish Dance choreographers themselves, Colin Dunne and Jean Butler.

Two of our teachers, Lacey Blowers and Danya Mozdzen, participated in and received their certification in multiple courses offered within the Recharge; Dance Educators Workshop, including: Building Resiliency in Youth and Adult Dancers, Teaching with the Heart: Leadership that Builds Community, Equity in Dance Education: Creating Inclusive Spaces, Understanding Music: Counts, Phrasing and Interpretation, Mental and Emotional Wellness: Burnout, Boundaries and Being Okay, Fuelling Movement: Nutrition and Energy Management, Teaching Lab: Hands-on Teaching Practice and Feedback, and Choreography 101: How to Start, Shape & Polish Your Choreography.
