We offer classes for dancers of all ages. With classes starting at age 6, all the way up to 100, there's something for everyone at Prairie North Dance.

Competitive Irish Dance
Prairie North Dance participates in local dance competitions like The Rockwood Festival of the Arts and Dance Manitoba. Dancers also compete in Open Platform competitions at the regional, national and International level through digitally based Feiseanna through the Enchanted Feis Series.
Knowledge is Power
Access to education and mentorship is a key pillar of strength for Prairie North Dance. Our dancers are very lucky to take part in several in-person and virtual educational opportunities each year that positively impact not only our physical dance practice, but our thoughts and attitudes about ourselves as whole human beings. This intentional focus on education, like our participation in The 2026 Dancing on Dangerous Ground Workshop with Colin Dunne and Jean Butler (Choreographers and original lead dancers of Riverdance) at the World Academy of Irish Dance in Limerick Ireland, is what allows us to build dancers who can engage in the sport for their entire lives. Dance is for everyone.

At Prairie North Dance, we're more than just a dance studio. We're a community of dancers who support and encourage each other every step of the way. We believe that dance is a practice best enjoyed with others. Our dance community aims to show the dance world that you can still have a high technical ability within dance, a deep desire to hone your craft and be the best you can be, without operating within a high-stress, restrictive, competitive environment. At Prairie North Dance, we are whole human beings who have lives outside of dance that we bring with us when we hit the dance floor. Together, we rejoice in the various pieces of ourselves, and embrace all that we are as human beings. Doing so makes us better dancers, friends, and community members.
Our Classes
Irish Dance Classes
Prairie North Dance is a technique and skills-based dance and creative movement program with its instructional foundation rooted in Safe Dance Practice and Brain-Compatible Dance Education for dancers from age 5 to 100! Students at Prairie North Dance have the opportunity to learn a mixture of traditional, modern and performative Irish Dance and creative movement in our classes.
The next intake of new dancers will be for our Fall 2026 Dance Session, which will open for registration on July 30th, 2026.
NEW: Summer 2026 Dance Workshop Dates
Summer 2026 Dance Workshops for Current Prairie North Dancers
We are so excited to be offering three different workshops at our Stonewall location for our current Prairie North Dancers. Each workshop will feature a specific dance for students to learn in its entirety. This summer we will be offering the following workshops to all our Beginner Advanced and above dancers:
1. ST PATRICKS DAY WORKSHOP - July 6th, 6-8pm
2. BEGINNER SLIP JIG - July 7th, 6-8pm
3. BEGINNER TREBLE JIG - July 8th, 6-8pm
Registration will be open for these summer workshops on May 30th, 2026.

1. Saturdays (Location: Quantum Dance Academy Stonewall): All Beginner/ Newcomer Classes (For Dancers who are brand new to Irish Dance)

5:00 - 6:00pm - Newcomer Class (Ages 11-17)
6:00 - 7:00pm - Adult Newcomer/Beginner (18+) *Drop In Style Class

PRAIRIE NORTH DANCE - THE ROCKWOOD FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS ON APRIL 10/11, 2027 (This is for ALL Prairie North Dancers from all Spring Competition Session classes)
*Additional Dates in this session include:
1. Friday, April 09, 2027: 8:00-9:00pm *Rockwood Festival of the Arts Dress Rehearsal for all competition dancers
2. Sunday, April 25th, 2027: 5:00-7:00pm *Prairie North Dance School Photoshoot for all Dancers
Families with more than one dancer registered in a given dance session will receive a 15% multi-student discount off total tuition for that session. As well, Prairie North Dance offers a multi-class discount. If a dancer registers for 2 classes in a session, they will receive 10% off the total tuition amount. If a dancer registers for 3 or more classes in a session, they will receive 15% off the total tuition amount.
There is a one-time $20 registration fee per family, per year (the year includes the Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions) that will be added to your session payment at your initial registration. Example, if the registration fee is paid in the Fall session, it is not paid again when the student registers for the subsequent Winter or Spring session.
